I wonder if it’s possible that Africa and South america could have been the head of a large creature considering they were together at one point. Hence the Horn of Africa maybe it’s got a deeper meaning?

Cipactli (Spanish Cipactli, also known as Sivangor) — in Aztec mythology, a sea monster that looked like both a fish and a crocodile; the creation of Ometecutli and Omecihuatl. Like Tlaltecuhtli, Cipactli is described as covered with hungry mouths; it was depicted carrying a lizard or frog face on each joint. From her body, Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca created the world, with Tezcatlipoca using his foot as bait for her. Sipaktli was divided into several parts by the gods; her head turned into thirteen heavens, her body into the earth, and her tail turned into nine hells of Miktlan.
