Greetings everyone!
After our recent discussion about roundies and the theory of mudfossils, one thought struck me that I would like to share. Looking at the images of Jupiter’s north pole, I noticed the striking vortex structures in its atmosphere.
It is impossible not to notice a certain visual similarity of these giant atmospheric phenomena with some “round stones”, which on Earth, within the framework of the theory of mud forces, are interpreted as the petrified heels of the feet of giant creatures.
Of course, I understand the fundamental differences between a gas planet and a solid body, as well as the controversial nature of the mudfoss theory itself in the scientific community. Nevertheless, I find it interesting to conduct a thought experiment.
Can the similarity of forms indicate some common principles of structure formation in nature, which are still unknown to us, regardless of the environment and scale?
I’m not saying that there are petrified giant feet on Jupiter. Rather, I suggest thinking about how our perception of shapes and structures can be influenced by existing theories and observations, even if they relate to completely different contexts.
What do you think about this visual similarity? Do you see anything here other than a random coincidence?
